Message from the Chairman of the Miss South Pacific Pageant
It is indeed a pleasure and honour for me, as Chairman of the Miss South Pacific Pageant Board of Directors to extend to you all a warm South Pacific welcome to this year’s Miss South Pacific Pageant.
As we come together as one people of this unique Pacific Heritage to celebrate this annual regional event, I would like to firstly congratulate the lovely contestants who are proudly representing their island nations this year. I commend you for your courage and determination just as we saw last year when Tessi Toluta’u of Tonga was crowned as the Miss South Pacific. We certainly hope that her successor will continue to be a good ambassador for our region in promoting our South Pacific Culture and our heritage which we are proud to call home. I take this opportunity to thank Tessi Toluta’u for her exceptional efforts and contributions during her reign.
I extend a special warm welcome to our Pacific neighbours like Tokelau and Fiji who have joined us in celebration this year and we look forward to their continuous support and participation in the years to come.
I wish all our visiting delegations a most enjoyable stay in American Samoa and we hope that you will spread the word about our region to your friends and families.
Last but certainly not the least, I would like to extend a big Faamalo and Faafetai Tele to the Government and all the people of American Samoa as well as our generous sponsors and the organizing committee for all the hard work and dedication you have collectively put together in ensuring the success of this year’s pageant.
May the Good Lord continue to bless all of us and guide us safely home and we hope to meet again in 2009.
Soifua and God Bless,

Misa Telefoni
CHAIRMAN
